World Mental Health Day
October 10, 2025 is World Mental Health Day. The goal of this day is to help normalize seeking treatment for mental illness. Many Americans struggle with symptoms of trauma, depression, and anxiety and do not have to tools to manage these symptoms. Seeking support in the form of counseling can reduce the impact of these emotions.
There has been a long-standing mentality that we need to pull ourselves up by the boot straps and keep pushing forward. But this thought process had lead to many to keep suffering unnecessarily. Just as it’s normal and helpful to seek medical help from a doctor we need to gain comfort with seeking mental health support from a counselor. Counseling is not just about venting your problems and getting angry. Counseling is about learning tools and skills to manage your emotions and decrease the symptoms you are experiencing.
